As our first stop of the day we went to 701X. They promote operational efficiency through data from a solar ear tag. They have many different products ranging from your normal ear tags to devices that can track your cattle. Most of their products are for cattle but they do have some customers that used them on bison, zebras, and llamas. There is a down side to using it on different animals other than cattle because it won’t be able to get the accurate data that it would need. Some of the products are the xTpro; this tag helps monitor heart rate in case an animal has a spike in heart rate and then the the tag will send a notification to your phone with the app to alert the farmer that he needs to go and check on his cows. There is other features in the tag that has a GPS to know exactly where your cattle are going and it can also let the farmer see his bulls performance record or it can detect when a cow or heifer is in heat so that way if they us AI to breed they know when it is time to breed.
Another tag they carry is the xTlite; it connects to the pro tag with Bluetooth. This tag has a roll call and feature that lets you know if any animals are found and missing when in range of the beacon and it also helps the farmer by giving him a head count without him having to go out and count himself. This tag has a pretty cool feature that when you are offline it will still send data to the cloud on your phone incase there is no service where you are at.
